Enclosure Types

Custom rackmount enclosures can come in several styles depending on equipment size, thermal needs, and installation requirements.

  • 1U–4U Rackmount Chassis for low-profile, high-density equipment housing in standard rack configurations
  • Vented Rack Enclosures with punched louvres or patterns to allow sufficient airflow to keep things cool during operation
  • Blank Panels for covering unused rack space and directing airflow where it’s needed
  • Rack-Mount Drawers and Trays in fixed or slide-out designs for peripheral and equipment storage
  • Deep Rackmount Chassis for applications requiring extended depth to accommodate larger boards, cooling systems, or specialized components
  • Flanged and Ear-Mount Enclosures with integrated ears for direct rail attachment and support of heavier equipment
  • Welded Rackmount Forms for applications with additional rigidity or structural strength requirements

Available Materials

  • Stainless steel 301
  • Stainless steel 304
  • Stainless steel 316/316L
  • Aluminum 6061
  • Aluminum 5052
  • Cold rolled steel
  • Galvanized steel

Finishing and 2nd Operations Capabilities:

Using the right finishing step on your custom rackmount enclosure will make the enclosure look better, perform better, and last longer.

  • Powder coating: A common option for rackmount enclosures which involves baking on a layer of powder that adds durability, scratch protection, and corrosion resistance.
  • Anodizing: Can be done on aluminum enclosures, and involves chemically adhering a protective oxide layer that helps with corrosion resistance and surface hardness.
  • Passivation: Is often done on steel enclosures to help with corrosion resistance. This process removes surface contaminants and creates a more uniform layer that avoids pitting.
  • Labeling and Front Panel Preparation: Many enclosures require clearly identified ports and interfaces, as well as warning and ID labels. To help with future silk-screening and labeling, our team can clean and prepare your enclosures to save your team some time.
