Team Horizon is an active BattleBots team that debuted in World Championship VII with their robot of the same name. The team is made up of 10 engineers and artists, united by a passion for pushing the limits of robot design. With 20+ years of experience, 30+ tournament wins, and 50+ top-three finishes, they’ve earned their reputation in the BattleBots arena.

Calypso is a four-wheel-drive robot with a durable HARDOX steel chassis.  Equipped with a 45lb asymmetric spinning disk, it functions as an undercutter and features two hinged forks for control, or a defensive wedge. Instead of being fully invertible, Calypso self-rights using gyroscopic forces when flipped. With a crab-themed design, it’s also accompanied by two mini bots: Pork Chop and Meat-Tornado.

1. Main Bearing Block

Next up is the Main Spinner Pulley, a crucial part that transfers power from the motors to Calypso‘s weapon. This pulley drives the weapon by using two V-belts, spinning it at incredible speeds to deliver devastating hits to opponents.

Precision-machined with splines on both ends, the shaft securely keys into both the pulley and the main spinner, ensuring flawless power transfer without slippage or wobble.
